In order to solve the problem which mobile vehicle restraint system(hereafter will be abbreviated as " movable barrier")can not meet protection requirements of the latest evaluation,the products of movable barrier was studied through finite element numerical analysis and optimization algorithm.However,design standard of temporary barriers as a part of movable barrier have not been calibrated yet.Thus,the standard was made exploratory study.Firstly,test conditions and evaluation criteria for 3 movable barriers containing activites barriers and temporary barrier were determined based on Standard for Safety Performance Evaluation of Highway Barriers(JTG B05-01-2013)and NCHRP report 350.Activites barriers are applied to central separator openning,and temporary barriers are applied to traffic control area.Next,structure of movable barriers which above mentioned were determined.The supported beam model was applied to two activitis barriers.Protective structure on both sides was linked together.The posts at ends were enclosed in protective structure.The supporting frame of temporary barriers was composed of metal sheets.W-beam as the main body of protective structure was wrapped outside.Then,optimal sizes were determined respectively through Vehicle-barrier impact simulation and objective parameter optimization.At last but not least,the standard for temporary barriers was studied.Test conditions,evaluation criteria,installed selection and other design requirements were determined.The following results are obtained in this paper:(1)Protection as movable barriers design concept and requirement was proposed.The test standard for three movable barriers was determined.(2)The structure and optimal sizes of activitis barrier for central separator openning was obtained.(3)The structure of activitis barrier with single slope section was obtaied.And optimal sizes were got based on objective parameter optimization.(4)A temporary barrier was developed according to the environment and characteristics of road traffic control area and "tidal" lane driving..Its optimal sizes and the best structure were obtained.(5)Test conditions,evaluation criteria,installed selection and other design requirements for Chinese situation were determined.A series of new movable barrier products for expressway and traffic control area respectively was introduced in this paper.They are flexible,mobile as well as more protection compared with previous products.Furthermore,test standard studying for temporary barriers can provide refrence for establishing highway traffic safety facilities regulations in future.
