As the rapid development of urbanization and the need of high level urbanization in our country,there comes an increasing of high rise residential district.In addition to some smaller differences or some artificial controllable factors such as soil,water,and climate in residential environment,light condition disequilibrium of residential district's green space which caused by Architectural shadow,has become one of the most important environmental factors that affect plant growth there;at the mean time,ecological design and sustainable development concept have been widely recognized by landscape design field,thus an advanced requirement of suitability of plant design in residential district has been raised.Based on plants' different requirement light characteristics,the current way of plant selection and allocation which is leaded by old experience cannot fulfill the accurate configuration between plant light requirement and district light condition anymore,therefore plants' suitability and growth cannot be guaranteed.In order to improve the adaptability of plant growth in residential districts,this study aims to optimize the matching degree of plant light requirement and light conditions by scientific,efficient and economical methods.In this case,in order to promote the health status and ornamental effect of plant growth in residential districts,plant selection and allocation are carried out.This study locate in Chengdu City,base on literature survey and field investigation,the research methods,theories,authoritative data and other research bases were summed up;“Species database of Plant configuration in Chengdu residential district” was established;and sunshine simulation and light comprehensive evaluation on the residential area of the study case was carried out;so as to guide plant selecting in different light conditions area in plant configuration practice case,which should be combined with the selection of plant community structure and the basic principles and methods of plant landscaping.The main research results are as follows:Through researching the domestic and foreign scientific and technical literature related to this study subject,this study summarizes the method of sunshine analysis in the residential district,and summarizes the methods and general rules of plant light requirement,plant selection,plant allocation and plant allocation practice in residential district.Based on the precondition of authority,practicality and feasibility,obtained the status of garden plant resources in Chengdu through literature survey,nursery investigation and present residential district investigation,and the analysis of the current data and the selection principle of plant in the residential district,337 kinds of commonly used plants were screened to in Chengdu residential district.“Species database of Plant configuration in Chengdu residential district” was established by MS-Excel software;based on the data integrity and related practical work,each species includes Chinese name,Alias,Latin name,Family name,Generic name,Ecological habits,basic characteristics,light requirement attributes and so on.In order to facilitate the retrieval,the study classified the qualitative description of plant light requirement characteristics in present literature into 5 categories,namely,the sun plant,the light demanding plant,the neutral plant,the shade tolerant plant and the ombrophyte.The establishment of <Species database of Plant configuration in Chengdu residential district> provides plant selection species database for plant configuration in research cases of this study,and also provides reference for local professional staff in Chengdu.In this paper,the residential district of Rongchengli Chengdu is selected as a case study.The sunshine length and sunshine intensity of the residential district are evaluated comprehensively.Base on the reference point that the well-grown plants whose growth condition is no shade and full sunshine is suitability,the results of the comprehensive light evaluation caused by architecture shadow are divided into five grades,namely,very suitable,suitable,general,unsuitable and very unsuitable,In this case,a comprehensive evaluation map of the light conditions of the case district has been obtained.It provides a basis for the practice of plant configuration based on light requirement.The matching principle of plant light requirement and light comprehensive evaluation grade in residential district follows the preferential principle of one-to-one correspondence and the suboptimal principle should be enlarged the rang of plant light requirement,so as to guide plant selecting in different light conditions area in plant configuration practice case,Combined with the selection of plant community structure and the basic principles and methods of plant landscaping,the plant configuration of the practice case was completed,while the application methods of the results was demonstrate.This study will be expected to give for reference.This study detailed the premise,methods and steps of plant allocation in residential district based on light requirement,completed the plant configuration practice in the residential district,in order to improve the adaptability of plant growth under different light conditions in residential district,improve the health status and ornamental effect of plants.
