The Study Of Public Space Satisfaction In New Centralized Communities

Since the reform and opening up,rapid urbanization has accelerated the integration of rural areas around the city.From "demolition" to "reconstruction",a special and new form of residence—new centralized communities emerged.The drastic changes in the living space have led to the transformation of traditional communication space and triggered changes in social relationships.As a “container” for residents' contacts and activities,the public space is also a connecting point for inheriting the community spirit and carrying social relations.The satisfaction of public space is a value judging standard for measuring the social capabilities of public space.For the new centralized community prevailing in the urban fringe area,does the public space fulfill its proper social function? How satisfied are residents with public space? This is a practical problem that needs to be solved.This paper selects the public space of a typical new centralized community in the peripheral area of Suzhou to carry out on-the-spot surveys.The structural equation model is used to measure the key factors affecting the satisfaction degree of public spaces in new centralized communities,and a corresponding public space optimization strategy is proposed for specific purposes with the hope to provide reference for the planning and construction of new centralized communities in the future.First of all,deeply analyze the specificity of the new centralized communities and select suitable public space satisfaction research methods.and uses the representative view of public space satisfaction factors and the relationship between public space satisfaction and community sense of belonging as the basis for selection to determine the latent variables and observed variables system,build a space satisfaction conceptual mode of the new centralized communities and make relevant research hypotheses.Secondly,taking the Suzhou fringe area as the research area,four representative new centralized communities are selected as research objects,questionnaires are developed to obtain pre-study data,and use the reliability,validity,and exploratory factor analysis included in SPSS 21.0 software to remove the observation variables that do not meet the conditions.Eventually an official questionnaire is formed and a field research is conducted again.Again,based on the data obtained from the formal survey questionnaire,AMOS 21.0 software is used to carry out confirmatory factor analysis,fitness test,path analysis,etc.of the conceptual model and validating the proposed research hypothesis,finally determine the satisfaction model of the new centralized communities' public space.The customer satisfaction index measurement method is used to measure the overall public space satisfaction.Through the interpretation of the research results,we found that the satisfaction degree of public space in new centralized communities has the following characterizations: The overall satisfaction of public spaces is low;place culture is the decisive factor influencing public space satisfaction among the four latent variables;There is a significant inverse relationship between the satisfaction degree of public space and the importance of indicators,and more indicators are concentrated in the “low satisfaction-high importance” and “high satisfaction-low important” quadrants.Finally,based on the research results of public space satisfaction,this paper puts forward the strategies and suggestions for the improvement of satisfaction degree of public space in new centralized communities in the urban fringe area: Based on the relationship between the degree of public space satisfaction and the importance of influencing factors,a differentiated public space construction strategy is adopted to increase the satisfaction of public spaces and promote the interaction of residents;increase public space satisfaction from the aspects of enhancing community participation,incubating diverse community self-organization,and constructing cultural identity.Based on community building to promote the integration of communities.
