Research On Intelligent Household Medical Equipment For Elders

Our society is entering an aging society,old people will take up a big percentage,so the market of aging people is becoming bigger and bigger and the consume level keeps rising,but their life quality especially home medical care needs further improvement.The elders need home medical care because of two reasons: first,the medical source is limited so it's hard to see a doctor,and the hospital is usually far from their home so it is inconvenient for elders to go to hospital;second,the elders need to be taken care of in many aspects,but more and more children are going to other cities to work because of a quicker and quicker social rhythm,so they cannot take care of the elders.Under this condition,it is very important to have household medical devices.But right now,most of household medical equipment are focus on simple functionality,such as like blood pressure and glucose measurement.But they need a lot of time for manual processing,they are not intelligent and cannot track users' health situation on time.Especially for blood pressure,this kind of disease has an intermittent impact on people and make them feel uncomfortable.If we do a manual and not-on-time measurement,we cannot get an efficient result.On the other hand,most of the medical devices has single function like body temperature measurement or massage.If the user wants more services,they have to buy a lot of equipment.It will not only consume a lot of space of house but also be inconvenient for the user but because of the low integration,the manipulation will be easier.However,the complex system will be hard for elders,but on the other hand,the inconvenience will be a problem too.Thus,an intelligent home medical care is necessary for us.An intelligent home medical care should focus on intelligence other than fulfill human's command.For example,the system should be able to record elders' health situation on time and record the temperature and moisture rate in the room to help the elders keep the room to be fit to live in.And it should be able to call ambulance when emergency happens.At the same time,intelligent design could help us conquer the elders' disadvantages like learning slowly and wrong operation and will make the operation easier,thus it will be convenient to elders and improve the user experience.In this paper,we discussed the health situation of elders and usual disease.Combined with elders' philosophy,functionalities and intelligent trend,shape and color philosophy and many other aspects,we give the suggestions and designs for the designation for household medical equipment for elders.
