With the rapid expansion of China’s elderly population, especially semi-disability, disability and advanced age groups to expand, from the state and society to families and individuals are facing heavy and oppressive pension issues. It is a social phenomenon that elders are difficult to see a doctor for medical treatment, due to different level of hospital medical, health care resources is not balanced distribution. It is urgent to find a solution of two elders’ survival problems that medical-nursing and elders’ care. In this context, a combination of the two elements, which are "elders’ care" and "medical-nursing", have a realistic basis for care model development. Respond to the times environment background, the mode of medical-nursing combined institutional care is emerging, it gradually become a social advocated care elders’ model and cause a hot discussed in society. In this paper, focus on groups of semi-disability, disability older people, Under the premise of research the medical-nursing combined institutional care mode, Discussing and guiding to the endowment facilities’ function configuration and design.Firstly, start from basic research to understand the current status and trends related to support problem for the elderly and other content. Secondly, the typical mode of medical-nursing combined institutional care to conduct field research, learn from the examples in the use of institutional care facilities found that the function and design of the strengths and weaknesses after carry on medical-nursing combined institutional care mode. Then analysis and understanding the basic properties of the elderly, health care and seeking behavior characteristics, current situation from Medicare needs and perspective of the actual state agency research to summarize suitable conditions and realities of the medical-nursing combined institutional care mode.
