Study On Protection Work Of The Traditional Village In The Western Region Of Henan Province

In China,from the original settlement to establish a village gradually,then slowly appear a large number of population living town,city.Thousands of years,these villages throughout and construct the Chinese profound culture.With the accelerating urbanization process,the ancient buildings in traditional village and one of the precious intangible cultural heritage are destroyed,the accelerating rhythm of life make traditional village structure under attack.A large number of rural residents go to cities and become migrant workers,people’s living place has been empty.It’s difficult to develop the original village agriculture,animal husbandry and all kinds of industrial,initially,these serious consequences only reflected in the unequal distribution of population and personnel,and gradually extended to the hollowing out of the whole industry.In the face of traditional villages in protection and development in the future,although the state has been gradually introduced a series of related policies,but different regions have their own unique personality,there are still many difficulties in practice about the specific work.Bernald Feilden,the famous architectural conservation expert,has said: "the architecture that remains today,just like literature or music,can also reflect the quality civilization.Society may disappear,but architecture,as a material cultural heritage,connects us to the people who created it.”The western region of Henan Province,which is located in the central plains,carries the unique traditional building idea and culture.The traditional villages there,as an immovable sign,not only remind people to protect traditional values,but reflect people’s aesthetic value.Also it’s worth protecting them seriously because they are the irrefragable fusion of material and spirit in cultural inheritance.Haishangqiao village is one of the most representative traditional villages in the western region of Henan Province.The villagers use local terrain and materials(wood,bricks,stones,etc.)to dig out kiln by cliffs and then build traditional hardhill-style houses with caves.It can also be said that the villagers have adapted their local conditions and used local materials to form a unique combination of cave and house.Each courtyard is adapted to the topography of the whole village which is backed by mountains and faces water,then it forms a unique picture of "roof is as high as the ground".At the same time,in order to adapt the change of environment,lifestyle and economic conditions,people give full play to their wisdom to combine village spatial pattern and local-style dwelling houses building with the characteristics of the local environment.There is no doubt that they use their design to create a variety of life wisdom that is small but useful.The traditional villages in Western Henan inherit Chinese traditional feng shui philosophy and siting points.It is unique that these villages locate in the transitional position from the first layer to the second layer and it is the southeast end of Loess Plateau.The typical topographical condition of Loess Plateau breeds and develops a variety of dwelling houses.Compatible with local environment,these houses’ space combination structures,architectural forms and construction details may remain permanently.In the dialogue with nature,all aspects of the traditional villages embody life wisdom of generations: the intelligent application of house framing methods,the selection of building materials and even the utilization of inconspicuous components.To research and protect this precious wealth would provide new thought and direction for city’s future construction and development.By collecting relevant information both at home and abroad,we can learn protection experience of the traditional village for a long time from both home and abroad,to reflect on the shortcomings of previous work,and summarized the western of Henan Province’s regional geographical environment characteristics and protect the status quo,analysis of the types of traditional village.This study takes a typical representative of the western region of Henan Province traditional village-Haishangqiao country,gongyi city as an example,analyzed the whole village and building characteristics,design repairprotection measures.It can play a guiding role in the whole western region of HeNan Province’s traditional village where need to pay attention to the repair work.These traditional villages are from the design of the early people’s wisdom,can also help the development of our future.
