With the development of space technology of our country,more and more spacecraft lunch to cosmic space,the ensure of astronaut's radiation safety,the demands of spacecraft longtime sustainable operation,making the study of space radiation environment more and more important,what's more,satellite detector are developing in the trend of multifunction and miniaturization.This paper focus on the feasibility of CZT radiation detector in space environment application.Based on large size CZT crystal designed a 2 x 2 single layer high granularity calorimeter,using GEANT4 to simulate high energy radiation deposition rate in CZT crystal with different scenario,and do energy spectral data acquisition in the end.This paper is divided into five parts,first part is aim to analysis the important value to study space environment and introduce the application of CZT at home and abroad.The second part mainly introduced the basic theory of semiconductor detector and how to make CZT work,using Au as detector's anode and cathode materials,take calorimeter's structure consideration then choose MSM structure to construct radiation detector.the third part is using GEANT4 to simulate Si HPGe and CZT energy absorb rate of y and proton,the result shows CZT's absorb rate is relative high then two of others,and simulate the effect of Au electrode when using Am241 to do energy spectral data acquisition,according AP-8 and CRRESPRO model to simulate CZT-Tungsten sample calorimeter,the result shows this structure can absorb 400MeV proton with a small size relatively.The fourth part is the process of made CZT detector,in order to connect ASIC chip and reuse CZT,using pin as the I/O of signal.Then the ?-? test shows CZT detector are ohmic contacted well and with low dark current.The fifth part introduced electronic system and did energy spectral data acquisition experiment and compared the effect of vacuum and air environment to energy resolution.From the simulation result analysis,CZT have high energy absorb efficiency of gamma and proton,12.6cm CZT-Tungsten structure can fully absorb 400MeV proton.From the experimental result analysis,the best energy resolution of single layer calorimeter is 6.7%it meets demand,the difference of energy resolution among four CZT of single layer is course by crystal itself.
