Research On The Bracket System Of The Dong Minority’s Architecture In Tongdao Country Of Hunan Province

Dong nationality’s wooden building construction and technique are important and unique parts of Chinese traditional wooden construction and technique.The exquisite and complex Dougong layer of the Dong nationality ’s buildings is the embodiment of the perfect combination of the functional and decorative features of the Chinese wooden construction techniques.However,most of the research results in the academic circles are based on timber technology.The research on the Dougong has not been into a completed system.The Dong nationality in the Tong Dao Autonomous County of Hunan Province is a typical representative of the south Dong nationality.The county has retained a large number of architectural examples of the Qing Dynasty.This thesis selected the Dougong of the Qing Dynasty buildings as the key research objects.From the standpoint of the Dougong’s structure,the paper records and analyzes the modeling arts,construction methods and scale modules of the Dougong,in order to explore the structural logic,the artistry of the craftsmen and the regional characteristics of the craftsmanship behind constructs.And then the thesis summarizes six typical artisan lineages.Finally,combining with the development of modern Dong architecture,the thesis explained the temporal and spatial evolution of the Dougong ethnicity and its geographical distribution from the perspectives of economics,politics and the genealogy of the craftsmen.
