The article is a preliminary analysis research on the wood structure construction technique of traditional vernacular in Shaxi Valley, Jianchuan Country, Yunnan Province, which is entirely based on a great quantity of the field surveys and the civil craftsman interview. The point of the text research is to the local traditional craftsman' confidence about the traditional construction technique. Begin with the background of the traditional construction technique, the problem carried on to discuss respectively, such as the artisans' space concept, they to the choice and usages of the materials and tools, the confidence and the expression for the wood structure construction technique, etc. Among them in popular method in the region to some carries on own thinking, a comparison to the northern region, and then puts forward to own viewpoint. The final part is a conclusion of the characteristics of the local construction ideas, and it also extends the understanding and explanation of traditional architecture culture.
