The monolithic control circuit for DC/DC switching converters is applied in the power management system for most portable electronics,such as smart-phones,tablets and ultra-light notebooks.These electronic devices are now commonly used for entertainment,communications and navigation,and are gradually incorporated into people's lives.With the popularization of these electronic devices in the life,people have higher demand for greater computing power and faster data processing speed.To meet these needs,the main processors of these electronics have evolved from single-core to multi-core,which means that their power management systems require low voltage operation and high load current.This is an innovation for the traditional DC/DC switching converter.In addition to the improvement of traditional analog control circuits,digital DC/DC switching converters are gaining more attention due to their smaller size,lower cost and easier implementation of complex control algorithms.The digital DC/DC switching converter based on single-chip,DSP and FPGA has also become the mainstream of research.This article combines the advantages of digital switching converter and focuses on FPGA-based digital DC/DC switching converter.After realization each module in digital power supply,a digital control algorithm is introduced to effectively improve the performance of the switching converter.The main work is as follows.First of all,introducing the operation principle of digital DC/DC switching converter,and analyzing the modules involved in digital implementation.Then,presenting a control algorithm that can be used for digital implementation,analyzing the system delay,and simulating the model through MATLAB/Simulink to verify the proposed control algorithm.Finally,digitizing the important modules by FPGA hardware description language,which includes ADC,DPID and DPWM,and verifying the reliability of this design through the system simulation and hardware circuit.
