Power distribution automation is an important part of the power system.With the power system in people's production and life plays an increasingly important role,distribution network automation is facing greater challenges.The power sector put forward higher requirements on the strength of distribution network fault location automation.The core problem that affects the reliability of the grid is the fault locati on of the line.With the long-term use of distribution lines,it will appear aging,leakage and other issues.If not repair it back to normal timely,people will have a serious impact on production and life.The traditional fault location have technical de fects in the fault detection,detection means and so on.It can only rely on the way of manual inspection to find the fault line.This approach has features of a large number of inputs,long processing time and so on,which caused a lot of waste on the human material and financial resources.In order to reduce the loss caused by the line damage,fault location turn into an indispensable part of the entire system.The structure and principle of the communication line fault location system and the network technology and communication protocol are introduced in this paper.It analyzes the shortcomings of the algorithm in the existing central station fault location system.Based on the development status of distribution network automation and the recorder-type fault indicator,it is proposed to use the discrete Fréchet algorithm in the master station for fault location.Finally,the fault location is transformed into the curve similarity.Common algorithms for comparing curve similarities include Euclidean distance,Hausdorff distance,and discrete Fréchet distance.In this paper,the three algorithms are described,and the thresholds of the three algorithms in fault location are determined by statistical method.Through the MATLAB tool,the curve similarity of zero sequence current waveform is obtained by using the discrete Fréchet distance,the Hausdorff distance and Euclidean distance,and the superiority of the discrete Fréchet distance is proved by comparison.The fault location flow and topology are designed based on the discrete Fréchet distance algorithm.By changing the location and direction of the coil I simulate the actual situation may occur in a variety of ground fault test accuracy.Finally,the algorithm is applied to the background software part of the master station to realize the fault location function,which proves the feasibility of the algorithm in the fault location system.
