With the increasing demand of the society for mineral resources,the number and scale of tailings deposits for storing tailings materials are increasing.The tailings store contains a large amount of tailings and sewage.It is a dangerous source of man-made mud with high potential energy.Once the tailings dam breaks down,it will cause incalculable casualties and property losses,so it is very important to study the stability of the tailings pond.In this paper,the tailings of a tailings dam in Changning,Hunan Province is used as experimental sand,and the relevant geotechnical parameters of the tailings sand are obtained through indoor geotechnical tests.The seepage flow of the tailings dam under normal conditions is simulated using finite element numerical simulation software.The finite element software is then used to analyze the seepage of the tailings dam under flood conditions under the combined effects of different slope ratios and different dam heights,and corresponding measures are proposed to reduce the buried line depth of the tailings dam.The stability of the tailings dam under different seepage conditions was calculated and analyzed using multiple calculation methods respectively,and the influence of the depth of the immersion line on the stability of the tailings dam was obtained.Due to the combined effect of the dam height and the slope ratio of the accumulated dam,the safety and stability of the tailings dam is not a single linear change.Considering the combined effect of dam height and slope ratio on the seepage and stability of tailings dams,in the early stage design of tailings dams,the higher tailing dam design can not adopt slow accumulation dams,but must pass through reasonable rowing.The seepage system and the appropriate slope ratio ensure the seepage stability of the tailings dam.
