| Warships usually suffer from structural safety problems inevitably caused by sea-ice collisions when performing their missions in the polar sea.Facing the complex ice conditions in the polar sea,the warships are also susceptible to large floe loads that cause structural damage, and then loss the combat effectiveness and survivability, even with better survey capability and the assistance of icebreakers. Now,the design of strengthening structures around the world for polar ships is mainly based on the rules of the ice class. However, the structural strengthening design in the norms does not apply to warships due to the requirement of light weight of warships. At the same time, the academic research on the structure of polar warships is also very limited.due to the sensitivity of warships,so it is very necessary to carry out research of floe load calculation and structural strengthening design on polar warships. In this paper,a set of reinforcement schemes with the lightest weight that meeting the structural ice-resistance strength are obtained by analyzing the navigational sea conditions of polar ships, calculating the corresponding ice loads and carrying out structural strengthening design studies of the target hulls. The main contents are as follows:(1)The relevant research on the rules of ice class is carried out and the structural strength of the ship is evaluated based on the rules of the ice class.Analysis the characteristics of the method.(2)A direct calculation method for the structural strength of ships with polar navigation is formed by literature investigation and special study, and the ship’s structure response is evaluated by numerical calculation of the ship’s head and side structure based on the method.(3)Based on the numerical result of ice load, different schemes for enhancing the structure of warships in the ice area are designed and the optimal scheme that meets the requirements of structural strength and weighs the least is obtained. |
