Nowdays,we focus on the safety of pedestrians that often caused casualties by conflicts between pedestrians and cars in intersections.There are many different ways to separate cars and pedestrians in intersections by the traffic signal.For instance,Exclusive Pedestrian Phase is a way to separate cars and pedestrians,but it often caused more delay in intersections.In this study,Leading pedestrian interval(LPI)as the starting point.We try to make part of the pedestrian flow safely through the conflict zone and take vehicles into account for the efficiency of vehicles.Simultaneously deduced the vehicle delay model at the crosswalk and verified the model.We also use pedestrian diffusion methodology to estimate how many pedestrians on conflict zone in every seconds of the signal phase,so we could know the number of conflicted pedestrians.This article aims to reduce the conflict between pedestrians and motor vehicles at intersections,and uses pedestrians to open different phases of time as a control strategy.In the context of the implementation of different control strategies in the context of various traffic flows and pedestrian flow,the conflict between people and cars at intersections is changing.The study found that the implementation of pedestrians early opening phase can significantly reduce the intersection of pedestrians and motor vehicles conflict,and the longer the phase of pedestrians to open early,the intersection of pedestrians and motor vehicles to reduce the more obvious conflict.However,if the early opening time is too long,it will cause a significant increase in the delay time of motor vehicles at intersections and the blocking of motor vehicles at intersections.For this reason,this article refers to the intersection service level as another evaluation indicator for pedestrians' early opening phase.Referring to the "Road Capacity Manual" of the United States,this article uses the delay time of motor vehicles at intersections as an indicator to evaluate the service level of intersections.Through an example analysis,it is concluded that when pedestrian traffic and motor vehicle traffic at intersections are relatively large,it is not appropriate to adopt a long pedestrian phase.It was finally concluded that when pedestrians are set to open early,the pedestrian-vehicle conflict at the intersection is reduced,and the pedestrian opening phase should be set in the case where the intersection service level is not reduced;the pedestrian-vehicle conflict at the intersection is reduced,but the service level is also reduced.In the meantime,it is necessary to consider other factors in a comprehensive manner to determine whether it is necessary to set the pedestrian's early open phase;the pedestrian-vehicle conflict at the intersection increases,and regardless of whether the service level changes,pedestrians should not set the phase of early opening.
