In recent years,as the trend of urbanization and mechanization advancing rapidly,the imbalance between the demand and supply in urban transportation has become increasingly severe,especially the traffic congestion problem in the central urban area.This not only reduces the traffic capacity of road networks,causing difficulties during peak hours,but also increases environmental pollution,which in turn limits the further development of cities.As an economic and efficient traffic organization method,one-way traffic organization can effectively improve the traffic capacity and service level of urban road networks,balance the traffic volume of road networks,and relieve traffic congestion in central urban areas,which has been widely used in many domestic and abroad cities.It shows that,one-way traffic organization has great theatrical and practical value in improving travellers' running speed as well as modifying the urban traffic environment.This thesis starts with a study on the structure of urban road network,the layout concept of Dense-network with small-scale roads and the current situation of one-way traffic organization research,both domestic and abroad,analyzing the traffic characteristics of the Dense-network with small-scale roads and the characteristics of one-way traffic organization,then elaborates the one-way traffic organization's advantages,disadvantages and applicable conditions in urban traffic management.In order to study the performance of one-way traffic organization under the Dense-network with small-scale roads,according to the quantitative index,this paper takes the Dense-network area with small-scale roads in Tianjin Heping District as research object,based on traffic investigations on the spot and residents travel questionnaire,analyzing several topics including the road network's characteristics,the traffic operation's characteristics,the residents travel characteristics,recent traffic problems within the study area and so on.Considering the actual road traffic environment's impact,a calculation of the capacity reduction for each road section is also conducted.According to the traffic flow during the peak period of the road section collected by survey,this paper analyzes the service level and section running speed of the road network during the early morning peak hour under the current one-way traffic organization program.Taken the traffic characteristics of the Dense-network with small-scale roads and the actual traffic environment in the study area,while according to the principles of optimality,targets and processes of one-way traffic organization optimization,this paper offers two sets of one-way traffic organization optimization plans,simulatively evaluates different one-way traffic organization plans by TransCAD,as well as contrastively analyzes the current situation of one-way traffic organization and optimization plans of the road network in the study area with evaluation indicators such as road network saturation,service level,travel time and detour distance.Meanwhile,the variation coefficient of the detour time is correlated with the longest acceptable detour time of drivers in the questionnaire,to form a quantitative evaluation standard,analyzing the feasibility of optimization plans from the perspective of traffic travelers.Taken indexes like the service level,travel time and detour time of road network,an objective evaluation shows Plan B is the best optimization plan of one-way traffic organization,which improves the overall traffic capacity and service level of the road network,with the detour ratio and average detour time in an acceptable range.The research on one-way traffic organization optimization in Heping District of Tianjin City done by this paper turns out to be valuable in practice,by offering theoretical reference to improving the traffic capacity and service level of Dense-network with small-scale roads.
