In recent years,our country has made some achievements in the field of road safety,however,the total number of accidents is still very large,especially heavy traffic accidents occur frequently on freeway that have seriously damaged the lives and property of people.Traffic safety situation of freeway has been widely concerned by all sectors of society.Therefore,this paper studies the identification method of freeway accident-prone point to reduce and prevent the occurrence of traffic accidents,and improve the current situation of freeway traffic safety.At first,this paper analyses the characteristics,distribution of time,space,form and various causes of freeway traffic accidents.Then,by comparing the characteristics and applicability of traditional identification methods at home and abroad,combined with the characteristics of freeway accidents and data collection,a new method called improved accumulated accident curve method is proposed.Based on this new method,the accumulated frequency scatter diagram of the number of equivalent accidents per kilometer is drawn,and the accumulated frequency curve is determined by using the Origin software.The equivalent accident number N80 and N95 of which the accumulated frequency is exactly 80% and 95% are used as the standard to extract accident-prone point and potential accident-prone point.Afterwards,the method is validated based on the accident investigation data of Hebei section of Beijing-Shanghai highway.By comparing the differences between the traditional accumulated accident curve method and the improved one,it is concluded that the latter is more reasonable for the division of linear units and the results of it are more objective.In response to the accident causes of accident-prone point,based on a unsupervised fuzzy clustering method named FCM clustering analysis method and the Matlab software,this paper analyzes the importance of the causes of various accidents and determines the main causes,secondary causes,inducing causes and hazard causes.Finally,combined with the causes of accident-prone point,a series of reasonable and feasible countermeasures are put forward from the aspects of people,cars,roads,environment and management.The research results of this paper provide a technical reference for the identification of accident-prone point,and they are also have important practical significance for improving the traffic safety of accident-prone point and increasing the overall safety level of freeway.
