Comparative Study On The Quality Of Spatial Environment In Historic District Of Xi'an Mingcheng District

Xi'an,with its rich historical heritage and spiritual heritage,has been listed as the first historical and cultural city in China.It serves as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and is the hub of Chinese civilization and world civilization.Today,Xi'an,as an important node of the “One Belt and One Road” and a frontline for the development of China's western regions,is facing good opportunities and severe challenges.The healthy development of cities in Xi'an not only affects the inheritance of the millennium culture and the sustainability of their own development,but also affects Xi'an's leading role in the countries along the “Belt and Road”.Xi'an Mingcheng District originated from Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty.It is a city form of intertwined streets with different ages,different scales,and different styles.It is a typical urban street space where traditional culture and modern culture interweave.However,with the rapid development of urbanization,after undergoing several large-scale urban planning reconstructions and residents' spontaneous reconstruction and reconstruction,the spatial environment of the streets has undergone tremendous changes.There are fewer and fewer streets with historical features that can be displayed in Xi'an Mingcheng District,and the streets that can reflect the memories of traditional cities are gradually disappearing.In addition,although domestic scholars have conducted in-depth research on the protection mechanism,protection measures,protection and renewal patterns,and updated design of space in ancient streets,there has been relatively little research on the ancient city of Xi'an in Xi'an,especially in the streets of Mingcheng District.The comparison between vertical and horizontal comparisons and the existing intrinsic link between the same type of blocks is not deep enough.Therefore,this paper takes the street space of Xi'an Mingcheng District as the starting point,firstly from the historical evolution of the street space,planning replacement,to the current situation of the street space environment and the extraction of the spatial pattern of the streets in the southwest region.The research status and successful cases have been compared horizontally to the evaluation and comparative analysis of the spatial quality of the typical streets in the Southwest District of Mingcheng District.Then,the principle of quality improvement for the protection and renewal of the space environment in Xi'an Mingcheng District has been excavated;Six typical streets,combined with the principle of protection and renewal,have carried out an updated design of the space environment of Xi'an's Mingcheng District.With a view to providing protection,renewal and quality improvement for street space similar to ancient streets in China,it provides a set of operative evaluation or comparison methods and guiding urban construction strategies.At the same time,it can also be used for the street environment of other similar ancient cities in China.Design,planning and construction provide reference.
