Research On Sense Of Place Construction Of Micro Public Space In Mingcheng District Of Xi'an

As the main place to carry residents for public life and social interaction,urban public space has always occupied an important position in urban construction.With the rapid development of China's cities in recent years,problems concerning the construction of public spaces have gradually begun to emerge.On the one hand,the construction focus in the past has been on large and medium-sized parks,squares,green spaces,etc.The micro-level public space that are most easily accessible and most directly provide people with places for daily activities has relatively low attention;on the other hand,the simple and rough urban renewal methods in the past have destroyed the continuation of the historical context,which has led to the convergence of the overall style and culture,and also reduced the identification,attraction and sense of belonging of the public space in the city.Nowadays,China's planning is gradually undergoing innovation.The planning concept has shifted from incremental planning to inventory planning,and the focus has shifted from grand narrative to micro-expressions that are closely related to people's daily lives.This article is based on the changes in the background of these practical problems and the planning concept,focusing the research on the creation of a sense of place in the micro public space in the city.Mingcheng District of Xi'an is an old city district that bears the historical changes and memories of Xi'an.The southeast area,which is composed of a large number of old communities,has many problems such as insufficient public space,poor environmental quality,and weakened area atmosphere.This article takes the micro public space in the southeast area of Mingcheng District of Xi'an as the research object,and takes the sense of space as the entry point,trying to discuss how to create a micro public space with sense of place.This article first sorts out the concept,characteristics,functions and types of micro public space,and explains the necessity of the construction of micro public space and the necessity of introducing a sense of place.Secondly,it conducted an investigation of the distribution,quality,and usage of the existing micro public spaces in the southeast area of Mingcheng District of Xi'an,and explored potential micro public space resources,combined with the psychological characteristics and behavior habits of users,analyze the influencing factors of the sense of place in the micro public space,establish an evaluation system of the sense of place,and through the questionnaire survey to obtain the user's needs,preferences and evaluation results of micro public space,summarizes the problems existing in the sense of place of micro public space,and then from the aspects of construction of layout system,creation of human-oriented space,improvement of space vitality,continuation of historical culture and improvement of management mechanism,propose a path to build the sense of place of micro public space in the southeast of Mingcheng District of Xi'an.Finally,the specific micro public space is selected for renewal design.This article's research on the creation of place sense in micro public spaces in cities aims to gain a deeper understanding of how the space environment and imagery affect people's spatial feelings,and on this basis,put forward effective strategies to enhance the attractiveness of urban public spaces and encourage residents to be more carry out daily public activities well to enhance the users' sense of belonging and pride in the city environment;at the same time,the construction of micro public spaces is a type of smallscale acupuncture,which has strong implementability for the compact old city,and can also provide a way to create a public space for other similar old urban areas.
