Research On Urban Street Space Design Based On "Hierarchy" Theory

Street space is the main traffic and use space of urban residents,which directly affects the use and cognition of the actual needs,the relationship between street space and people,and whether the level between urban street space and human activities are compatible with each other.For a long time,the activities and needs of people are ignored in the process of urbanization.The subordinate relationship of urban street level is separated,which brings a series of problems in the street space,Especially the contradiction between the urban road dominated by motor vehicle and the street space dominated by citizen's life.People begin to realize that the existing street planning and design can not be designed in the way of centralization,functionalization and formalization.Streets of different levels Serves different groups of people.People's personal experience and cognition of street space continue to conflict with the disorder of urban street planning in different levels.The issue of fairness and space connectivity is also increasing.This paper first interprets the street space planning and related theories under the hierarchy theory,combs the current situation and development of the related Street theory research at home and abroad,expounds the concept of street space application in this paper.Based on this background,the evolution of street space in different periods is analyzed.Secondly,the paper analyses the components of the street space which is based on the living,and studies the relationship between the three elements of the space environment,the activity plot and the human needs,and analyzes the functions of the modern street space.Again,based on the theory of hierarchy,this paper classifies andanalyzes street types according to the characteristics of spatial hierarchy,discusses and puts forward the principles of four aspects,such as space accessibility,comfort type guarantee,fair opening and retention memory,and analyses the methods of designing in three different dimensions.Finally,we summarize suggestions and put forward specific strategies through observation,record,questionnaire,comparison,behavior samples and other comprehensive analysis of the three different levels of street space in old town of Xi'an.Through this study,we hope to promote the design and transformation of the street space in the old city of Xi'an,and bring more living space entities and street order for the different levels of street,and provide theoretical support for the development of urban streets.
