It is important to study human thermal comfort for setting standards of indoor thermal environment.Thus,there are many researches on thermal comfort all over the world.There have been plentiful researches in areas in China except temperate area.However,research on temperate area in China is little.At present,the standard of temperature in temperate area is refer to hot summer and cold winter zone.There are many differences in climate,economy,life style and social custom between temperate area and other areas.Then,there are differences in indoor environment and thermal comfort between temperate area and other areas.Thus,it is not appropriate to use comfort temperature of other areas for temperate area.There are not central heating in temperate area,this results of bad indoor thermal environment in winter.With the development of economy,people start to use heating facilities which resulting energy consumption.Setting indoor environment standards of temperate area need researches on indoor environment and thermal comfort.Several typical cities are chosen in the two places.Questionnaires are distributed and thermal environment is tested by field study.Indoor thermal environment and human thermal comfort are studied.The main results are as follows:the neutral temperatures of temperate area A and temperate area B are 17.0℃ and 18.1℃ respectively.The lowest acceptable temperatures are 11.5℃ and 16.6℃ respectively.The relationships of closing and temperature in temperate area A and temperate area B are second linear fitting relationship and linear relationship respectively.The relationships of closing and thermal sense are second linear fitting relationship and linear relationship respectively.Indoor relative humidity has little influence on human humid sense in temperate area A while it has no influence on human humid sense in temperate area B.Indoor temperature is low,wind speed and relative humidity are proper in temperate area A.Indoor temperature is proper,wind speed is low and relative humidity are high in temperate area B.The results are good for energy saving and thermal comfort,they can also provide reference for setting comfortable temperature standards in temperate area.
