In recent years,China's civil aviation transport industry has continued to develop rapidly.China has become the second largest civil aviation transportation system in the world after the United States.However,compared with developed countries,the international competitiveness of China's civil aviation transport industry is still not high enough,and it is still an extensive development model that mainly depends on increasing labor and capital investment to increase output value.As the main component of the civil aviation transportation industry,the development status of airlines is closely related to the entire industry.To promote the better development of the civil aviation industry,it is necessary to start with the airlines and seek ways to improve the operating efficiency of the airlines and improve the competitiveness of the airlines.China Southern Airlines is one of the largest airlines in China.Being in a fierce competitive environment,how to improve the company's operating efficiency has become a key issue.In this paper,China Southern Airlines is selected as the research object to study the level of its operating efficiency,the factors that affect its operating efficiency,and the countermeasures to improve its operating efficiency.This paper uses Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)as the main research method,selects the number of employees,main business cost and net fixed asset value as input indicators,and net profit as output indicators to construct the Southern Airlines operating efficiency evaluation system,and calculates the southern aviation Technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency,and scale efficiency,combined with shadow price analysis,weighting,and projection analysis,identify issues that affect the operational efficiency of Southern Airlines in the business process,and put forward targeted recommendations.After analysis,this paper concludes that the technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency,and scale efficiency of China Southern Airlines are relatively low;the three major inputs such as employees,operating costs,and fixed assets of China Southern Airlines have a large degree of redundancy.Low utilization rate of resources;Among the three inputs,Southern Airlines' operating efficiency is most sensitive to changes in employee input,and the company must optimize employee investment in order to improve operating efficiency;Hainan Airlines and Spring Airlines are the most valuable reference for China Southern Airlines in improving its operating efficiency.airline.Taking the above conclusions as the starting point,combined with the actual conditions of China Southern Airlines,this paper identifies the causes of the lower operational efficiency of China Southern Airlines: weak internal risk management,redundant fixed-asset investment,insufficient cost control capability,and low labor productivity of employees.It has exacerbated the instability of the output or resulted in excess investment,which has had a negative impact on the company's operating efficiency.Finally,this paper proposes specific countermeasures for improving the efficiency of China Southern Airlines from the aspects of improving the company's risk management system,controlling investment in fixed assets,strengthening cost control,and improving employee labor efficiency.
