| Facing the more and more serious problems of environment and resource,alternative energy becomes a trend in the IC engine development.Metal nanoparticles have many advantages such as increasing volume energy density,low ignition point,abundant resources,non-polluting,recyclable.With the development of nanotechnology,metal nanoparticles can be used to IC engine as energy.Because there is no suitable supply system,conventional IC engine can’t use solid metal energy directly.The paper introduces the nanofluid fuels that are liquid fuels with a stable suspension of nanometer-sized particles.In the paper,in order to study the impact of nanoparticles on engine performance,selects 50 nm and 80 nmCeO2,30 nm Al2O3,30 nm ZnO,20 nm Cu,50 nm passivated Al&pure Al,50 nm Fe nanoparticles.80 nm CeO2 is surface-modified by Tween-60.By original nanoparticles morphology and size analysis used EMS,we can judge nanoparticles quality.Adding nanoparticles to diesel,use of ultrasonic stirring.We can get 16 kinds of nanofluid fuel,include CeO2-50,CeO2-100,modified CeO2-50,modified CeO2-100,Al2O3-100,Al2O3-200,ZnO-100,ZnO-200,Al-100,Al-200,passivation Al-100,passivation Al-200,Cu-50,Cu-100,Fe-50,Fe-100.By DLS analyzing particles size of nanofluid fuels,we can find that particlrs size have increase a lot.80 nm CeO2 dispersion of the modified surface is preferably dispersed in diesel.20 nm Cu have poor dispersibility,and oil upper layer of particle size is about 400nm,so it isn’t used in the follow-up engine test experimental.In addition,the concentration can affect particles size,concentration smaller particle size smaller.Nanofluid fuels are used by diesel engine,and test their influence on fuel consumption,exhaust emissions and combustion pressure at 25%,50%,75%and90%load.The test found that 14 kinds of nanofluid fuel have a positive effect on fuel consumption at 75%load.CeO2-50 and Fe-50 best results were 2.23%lower fuel consumption and 2.09%.At 75%load,by analyzing exhaust emissions of CeO2-50Fe-50,there aren’t significant influence of NOx,CO,CO2 and O2 content,and it’s not entirely consistent with the fuel consumption.By combustion pressure and combustion heat release rate,we found,CeO2-50 increase the maximum combustion pressure about 0.14 bar,and ignition timing advance 0.1°.Fe-50 is higher than pure diesel at the initial stage of the combustion pressure rises,and the maximum combustion pressure did not change significantly. |
