The Research On Designing User-Oriented Data Visualization

With the rapid growth of data and development of information technology,we are surrounded by data information.Data visualization as a way to help users quickly and efficiently get information in the data,is also widely used and accepted by people.But the research on designing data visualization from the point of view of the user experience is not common.Because of data visualization which changes from visual static to dynamic,the users put forward higher requirements for user experience.The article based on user experience,analyzes the visual experience,interactive experience and emotional experience in data visualization by the method of user research.Based on basic concepts of data visualization and user experience for interdisciplinary research,combing the data visualization development,analysis of the elements of the user experience,presented data visualization evaluation criteria: effectiveness,efficiency,satisfaction,and then summed up its three levels of user experience: visual experience,interactive experience,emotional experience.It proposed optimization experience method and visual design assessment methodsThe design process which based on user experience-oriented data visualization should be: data and user analysis(user interviews,user model)-Data filtering and processing-Visual Design(visual dimension,interactive level,emotional level)-design evaluation(user testing)-improved design-design evaluation(experts)Finally,to show the user experience driven design example data visualization design and make summary and outlook.Complete a data visualization design which based on user experience-oriented design method,and support the conclusions in the article.
