The Research On Spatial Elements Of Baoding Jingxiu Park Based On Field Investigation And Spatial Syntactic Analysis

Urban park is a kind of green space with abundant recreational activities and diverse spatial types in the open space of the city.It has become the preferred place for urban residents to have a leisure relax and do daily recreational activities.There are some problems such as unreasonable environment design and irrational space organization existing in the current park construction,which cannot meet the users’ active needs and affect the tourists’ s activity experience.Therefore,studying on the the spatial elements that affect recreational activities for targeted design has great significance.Space Syntax is a series of theories and technologies focusing on quantifying spatial structure to study the relationship between space and sociology.Taking Jingxiu Park as an example,the study explores the spatial elements that affect recreational activities from two aspects of space environment element and spatial organization relationship on the basis of field investigation combined with Space Syntax Theory.The paper analysis the primary attributes including the sex,age,occupation and amount of tourists,then analysis spatial distribution and characteristic of recreation activities by behavior observation and on-the-spot interview.According to the actual investigation,thirteen variables are selected from six environment elements of vegetation,water,terrain,pavement,facilities and garden ornaments.Basing on Space Syntax Theory,convex space model is established to quantify spatial organization relationship and four indexes are selected: depth,connectivity,control and integration degree.Combined these two sapects with recreational activity flow,the paper adopts correlation analysis and linear-regression analysis to find out the influence degree of these elements.The results shows that the impact of spatial environment elements on recreational activities is significantly greater than that of spatial organization.In the environment elements,the collocation of trees and lawns and recrestional fitness facilities have the most significant influence on tourists.While,the terrain element shows weak repellency,and other elements have no significant influence on recreational activities.In the spatial organization relationship,the elements have positive significance for the representation of recreational activities and the rational allocation of space.Combined the problems found in research with the quantitative analysis results,put forward the following suggestions for recreational spaces’ s lifting: the park should adoptthe matching form of Arbor+Lawn for space enclosure and take the form of tree seat or ecological tree pool for space interior construction.Terrain design should avoid obvious height variation.The layout of recrestional fitness facilities should be flexible and avoid excessive concentration.Quantifying spatial structure and calculating spatial organization relationship based on Space Syntax could help to design the City Park.It also helps the rational allocation of static and fynamic spaces,stimulate spatial vitality and increase the space utilization ratio.The empirical study on the relationship between recreation activities and spaces of Jingxiu Park provides data support for the recreational spaces’ optimization and gives a new way for the scientific establishment of parks.It also provides useful reference for the reconstruction of old parks and the planning of new parks in Baoding.
