With the rapid development of Chinese economy,multi-axis heavy truck which meeting the requirement of high efficiency of transport and maximum usage of axle is increased very fast.This kind of heavy truck becomes the main model among the domestic truck market.The traditional multi-axis heavy truck lies itself on the chassis respectively and rigidly,and no power transmits between the two axis.This may give rise to suspension or overload of part of wheels when the truck is on a rough road.Unlike the traditional multi-axis heavy truck,dual-front-axle equalizing suspension can connect the adjacent axis by use of equilibrium principle.The latter can solve the problem of unbalanced load distribution on the two axis,make the power distribution more balanced and harmonious.By improving vehicle performance and decreasing the impact on axle under rough road,dual-front-axle equalizing suspension could highly improve driving comfort and extend the truck life.The writer first introduces the research status on this issue at home and abroad,implements a in-depth comparison analysis on some typical dual-front-axle equalizing suspension forms.Based on the actual situation of the writer's company,one of the above forms which suitable for the company is selected and the writer conducts analysis process on the axle load transmission as well as the inner and outer front wheel angle relation.Aiming at the double axles equalizing suspension of heavy duty truck,the kinematics and mechanics model of Pro/E and ADAMS are used to simulate the key structures such as suspension steering.The kinematics of the equalizing suspension can be simulated and dynamic characteristics.Based on the finite element analysis,the relationship between the actual angle and the theoretical angle of the structure is calculated and analyzed.On this basis,the structural and parameter optimization design is carried out to construct the optimization model of the double front axle equilibrium suspension structure and obtain the key point of the model body.Based on the optimized model,the relevant components are designed and the strength of the main bearing parts is checked.The components can follow the structural design principle to obtain the improved mechanical properties to meet the functional design requirements and realize the light weight.Then the writer conducts a test which applying the optimized dual-front-axle equalizing suspension on the sample truck,and verify its feasibility and dependability by a series of experiment and detection,for example,Braking force detection,Emergency braking test,Reliability road test.
