In the construction of mountain cities and road in Western China,single-column footing on rock ground fully utilized the advantages of good geological conditions,shortened the construction period and improved the economic benefit.However,the theoretical research on single-column footing on rock ground can not satisfy the practical engineering application,and its empirical and rough design method will cause the unreasonable design and the hidden danger of engineering safety.This paper studies the failure mode and design method of single-column footing on rock foundation through field test,theoretical analysis and numerical simulation,the main research work of this paper are as follows:1.This paper induces and studies the research status of single-column footing at home and abroad.2.This paper performs field test of single-column footing on rock ground and obtains the distribution of contact pressure,internal stress distribution and crack development rule through field test.3.This paper studies failure mode of single-column footing on rock ground and analyses the rationality of the bending-expansion failure mode of single-column footing on rock ground.4.This paper studies the influence of elastic modulus of rock ground on shear ability of single-column footing,and proposes a new design method which includes two influenced parameters: span-depth ratio of footing and elastic modulus of rock ground.
