With the rapid development of urbanization, the contradiction between the everincreasing demand for travel and the limited supply of transportation have intensified.Such phenomena as traffic congestion, tail gas pollution, and energy shortages are constantly emerging. To a certain extent,These problems restrict the development of urban economy, the improvement of people's living standards and the sustainable development of the environment.Travel mode is the most direct carrier for completing travel activities, and the main link connecting transportation supply and demand. The optimization of the travel mode system has good feasibility and operability in resolving the contradiction between supply and demand.Based on the above analysis, this paper studies the urban passenger transportation mode of travel system as the object of optimization. The main structure of the paper covers the following aspects:(1)The causes of urban traffic problems and the corresponding countermeasures have been summarized.Based on the analysis of the feasibility of system optimization of travel modes to alleviate urban traffic problems, the basic structure of the travel mode system, the internal and external environment, the co-opetition mechanism between the elements, and the evolution mechanism are analyzed. Then, the system's optimization goal and direction are determined. It proposes to optimize the composition of the system elements and the interactions between the elements.(2)Based on the concept of sustainable development, the target system for the optimization of travel mode system structure was constructed in terms of economic costs, environmental impact, and traffic effectiveness. And with the help of the market substitution method, the quantification of indicators in different dimensions has been achieved;Combined with the main factors affecting the structure of travel modes,a multiobjective structural optimization model is established under the constraints of total travel volume, resource environment, and ideal travel time consumption. Finally,a case application model in Beijing is used to solve the problem, which verifies the operability of the model. In addition, specific optimization results are obtained.(3)This section relies on self-organizing theory groups to analyze the selforganization evolution mechanism of the travel mode system.Based on the characteristics of travel mode, the logistic model has been modified, and a self-organizing evolution model with passenger volume as the state variable was established.Aiming at the changes of the evolutionary results caused by the model input changes, the sensitivity analysis algorithm was used to quantify the interaction between the final state of the system evolution and the model control parameters. At the same time, the stability analysis theory was used to analyze the co-opetition relationship between public transport, private cars, and rail transit, and the corresponding evolutionary landscape under different competing conditions was obtained. Finally, the policy recommendations are proposed for collaborative optimization of the system based on the actual situation.
