Research On Family Intergenerational Nursing Product Design Based On Semiotic Approach To Product Architecture Design

Social Issues like urban fast-paced life pressure,communication and education problem of the only child,trend of aging are making "Intergenerational Nurturing" becoming a helpless choice for the young men.Children in the age of 1~3 years old need to be guarded and educated all the time.It’s an extremely challenging for the elderly whose mobility gradually declines.The problem of inter-generational relations has a wide range of attention in sociology,psychology,and other fields.At present,most of design studies focus on parent-child interaction design and pay less attention to inter-generational interaction.The purpose of this project is to help elderly,whose families are in the generations of caregivers,take care of children easily and efficiently.It designs a set of care products to meet the needs of elderly who must care for and protect grandchildren alone while working with housework.In the mean time,this product also meets the needs of interactive entertainment of young children.In this article,the author used methods including literature research methods and user research related analysis methods to design family intergenerational care product.In the early stage of the background analysis of the subject,it’s through literature review,case studies,and on-site inspections to get the environmental context of the survey,the selection criteria for the region and the user,and research plan.During the field survey,one-day tracking was conducted with participatory observations and in-depth interviews in order to collect the complete life styles of ancestral generations and grandchildren.After that,disassembly analysis was performed on the process of activities among stakeholders.In the process of behavior analysis using concrete methodologies,it digs the meaning of the two stakeholders through the cluster analysis method of the SAPAD theoretical framework to find the six level,physical level,semantic level,syntactic level,etc.of behavior.Through the mapping of the core meaning clusters and related objects,it will get several design opportunities for the generational care products in the guidance of the syntactic level and empiric level.Finally,in the concept design stage,the product experience was optimized using the typical role method and scenario method,and the final product design was completed through brainstorming and rapid prototyping.According to research above,the author proposes a concept product design for family relying intergenerational nursing care.The product design includes the following features: 1.It achieved that elderly can take care for the granddaughter while performing the necessary household;the elderly can interact with granddaughter in different spaces or different work content,forming different scenes to experience teaching;3.ensure that the elderly are easy to operate and use the product;4.ensure the safety of young children in the interaction of different scenes.
