The Remodeling Design Of Traditional Chinese Dwellings In Yutu Village, Southeast Of Hubei Province Under The“live” Mode

As a form of native architecture,traditional Chinese residential dwelling is the embodiment of human creativity and wisdom.It is manifestation of harmony with nature.It is also an architectural concept that is taken from nature and integrates with nature.Traditional Chinese dwellings are based on the simple ecological view of conforming to nature.It is rooted in the sentiments of life and natural forms,and is comprehensive expression of regional economy,culture,humanities,and building skills.Adapting to local lifestyle,fully integrating with nature and the environment,creating residential buildings with unique regional characteristics,embodying the local exclusive architectural construction concept and architectural space form,are also manifestation of local traditional lifestyle and historical memory.Traditional residential dwelling is a memory of history.It can exist across different eras.It is a process that slowly vanishes unless it is destroyed by mankind or natural factors.The continuation of traditional residential buildings should change with the development of people’s life concepts and lifestyle.They should adapt to the needs of users at different times and respond to changes in the structure,functions,and surrounding environment of buildings,with which fusion,update,and continuation are achieved.Therefore,the building itself is a process of constantly integrating with the new environment,constantly updating,self-optimizing and developing,so that the style of architecture can be continued and inherited.Nowadays,due to the driving force of globalization and the new rural campaign that emerged at the end of the 20 th century,many traditional residential areas in our country are undergoing new changes and challenges.A large number of traditional residential buildings are edging on the destiny of being destroyed and demolished.Under the guidance of the “live” mode,with the traditional Chinese dwellings as background,based on the residential dwellings in the southeastern Hubei area,the thesis emphasizes the remodeling design of the residential dwellings in Yutu Village,Yangxin County.By analyzing design concepts and transformation plans,researching the architectural space,ecological technology,residential culture,and external space of the architecture,the author tries to reveal the merits of local residential dwellings,and realize upgrade in architectural space,technological construction,and cultural continuity.With integration,renewal,and continuation in mind,the author proposes the “living” method and tactics for building human space and humanities in terms of space,communication,and the external space of village.
