Cycling a mountain bike has become a city youth's trend because of mountain bike's characteristics such as low-carbon environment,small noise,high adaptability,strong and durable,superior riding performance.Frame is the critical component of mountain bike,The quality of frame directly impacts the feeling of drive and the safety of rider.However,There are still defects for today's mountain bike,such as weight tend to heavy,frame's shock resistance and fatigue resistance lower.In this paper,the critical component and the key position of mountain bike are identified by using fault analysis and finite element analysis respectively.The resolutions for fault problems are obtained through TRIZ theory.This study result is of important rule for mountain bike's improving and optimization as well as promoting the market competitiveness of domestic bikes.The main works of this paper are as following:1.The improving design framework for mountain bike is built,and the main fault factors for mountain bike are confirmed by visiting profession specialist,using net and literature review.The questionnaire is designed to collect the data for finding the occurrence frequency and importance of the crucial fault factors.The probability importance of the crucial fault factor is determined.2.The failure modes for mountain bike are analyzed,and its fault tree is erected.The probability importance of the crucial fault factor is determined.The biggest probability importance is frame,so frame is the crucial component of mountain bike for improving.3.The finite analysis model for ordinary frame is built,through structure mechanics analysis and fatigue analysis,the frame position needed to improve is got4.The improving design for mountain bike is implemented based on the technology evolution theory and conflict principle of TRIZ.Five resolutions are obtained.5.The five resolutions are evaluated by finite analysis and experiment,the sorts of five resolutions is got.And the best improving is conformed.
