Contents of the abstract.Times New Roman.The marine cable plays an important role of transmitting electrical energy and transmitting information in the ship's electrical system.The aging state and insulation performance of the insulation layer will directly affect the stable operation of the ship and personnel safety.The marine cable works for a long time under the harsh environment of high temperature,high humidity and strong light.Under the joint action of hot oxygen,the cable insulation layer will generate small molecular segments and oxygen-containing groups.The change of its internal chemical structure will affect the mechanical properties and insulation properties of the cable,which will greatly shorten its service life and cause the marine cable to fail.In order to find out the failed marine cable in time and effectively deal with it,it is necessary to conduct a detailed study on the marine cable and understand the rules existing in the aging process.Polyvinyl chloride(PVC)material is an important wire and cable insulation material with excellent thermal stability and electrical insulation properties.This paper takes the marine PVC cable as the research object and carries out the following work:First,the accelerated thermal oxygen-aging test was carried out on the marine PVC cable,and the characteristics of the aged samples were measured,such as hardness,elongation at break,tensile strength,insulation resistance and crosslink density.The variation rule of various performance parameters of cable during aging process is obtained;Then,a series of chemical reactions occurred in the process of thermal oxygen aging of marine PVC insulation are theoretically analyzed,and a mathematical model between hardness and crosslink density was established and verified.It is indicated that the hardness can well reflect the actual aging degree of marine PVC cables;finally,through the analysis and fitting of the remaining hardness retention data,the cable residual life detection model based on residual hardness retention rate is obtained,and a new method for rapid detection of the remaining life of marine PVC cable is proposed.Through the series of research work in this paper,the aging law of marine PVC insulation is obtained,and the empirical model between the residual hardness retention rate and aging life of PVC rubber is established.Combining the established prediction models,non-destructive evaluation of the remaining life of marine PVC cable can be achieved.Compared with the traditional evaluation method,this method is simpler in operation,less in workload and lowers in cost,and has reference value for the research of PVC cable for other purposes.
