The problem of non-renewable energy shortage and environmental pollution is becoming more and more serious,which makes the proportion of renewable energy generation in power grid increase year by year.Due to the influence of wind speed,the output power of wind power is random and uncertain.It is a hot topic to apply energy storage system to smooth the output of wind power.The ramp events caused by wind power fluctuation will bring great harm to the safe operation of power grid.In this paper,pumped storage power station is used to smooth wind power ramp events.Through the study of wind power ramp events,the concept and mathematical formula of wind power ramp events are grasped.The research on the methods to smooth the wind power ramp events at home and abroad provides a reference for this paper to smooth the wind power ramp events.The research of energy storage technology confirms that this paper uses pumped storage power station to smooth wind power ramp events.In this paper,the mathematical formula of wind power ramp events is defined,and combined with the mathematical model of pumped storage power station and the corresponding constraints of wind power ramp rate,an objective function model is established to smooth the minimum fluctuation of wind power output.The dynamic programming method is used to define the variables such as stage,state and decision-making.The objective function is solved by the dynamic programming method.The power curve and the dispatching situation of pumped storage power station are obtained after the wind power ramp events are smoothed.Based on the application of dynamic programming method to smooth wind power ramp events,this paper designs an adaptive dynamic programming method to improve the dynamic programming method in order to solve the problem of slow calculation speed and excessive smoothing in the process of solving dynamic programming method.The results show that the adaptive dynamic programming method not only smooth the wind power ramp events,but also solves the problems existing in the dynamic programming method,and improves the benefits of wind power.
