High liquid limit soil is poor in quality and can not be directly used as roadbed filling.Moreover,the high liquid limit soil has regional characteristics,and the engineering characteristics of the high liquid limit soil in different areas are quite different.Therefore,based on a highway project in Guizhou,this paper studies the performance of machine-made sand to improve high liquid limit soil,which provides a reference for roadbed filling.This article is based on a highway project in Guizhou.High liquid limit soil is the research object.Through the indoor and outdoor experiments and numerical simulations,the road characteristics of the mechanism sand modified high liquid limit soil were studied,and the following conclusions were obtained:1 Through particle analysis test,mineral composition analysis test,liquid-plastic limit test,compaction test,direct shear test and load-bearing ratio test of high liquid limit soil.The physical and mechanical properties of high liquid limit soil are analyzed,and the corresponding treatment methods are put forward.2 The compaction test,direct shear test and load-bearing ratio test of the improved high liquid limit soil are carried out.The mechanical properties of the improved high liquid limit soil are analyzed,and the optimum sand mixing ratio is proposed.3 Through field rolling test of improved soil,the optimum rolling technology for roadbed filling is obtained.Combining with the optimum rolling technology,the construction technology of mixing sand to improve high liquid limit soil is put forward.4 FLAC3D was used to analyze the settlement effect of the improved high liquid limit soil subgrade,slope stability effect analysis and dynamic analysis.The method of using mechanical sand to improve high liquid limit soil and the construction technology proposed in this paper can reduce the settlement of roadbed during construction.At the same time,the stability of the subgrade slope can be improved,and the overall stability of the subgrade is better during normal driving.
