The Application And Research Of BIM In The Design Of Building Structure For Small And Medium-sized Design Institute

In recent years,total added value of construction industry has always accounted for a high level over 6.5% of national economy,construction industry plays an important role in the growth of national economy.At the same time,huge waste of resources and decline in production efficiency of construction industry caused by extensive development received widespread attention all the time.Construction industry information is generally considered an important technology for intensive development and energy saving.As the development of the computer science,BIM technology,which makes parametric design and information sharing in the whole life cycle possible,comes into being with the opportunity and brings great changes to the design industry.Design enterprises are expected to develop collaborative design and data sharing based on visual and parameterized platform,which is an important approach to improve design efficiency and strengthen the core competence.At the present stage,domestic application of BIM in design phase mainly focus on powerful and large design institution and complex design projects.In small and medium sized design institutes,the application of BIM develop slowly for the lack of understanding in new design process and coordination mode based on BIM.After 2013,decline of the real estate market and national economic control bring small and medium sized design institutions huge survival pressure.Small and medium sized design institutes accounted for more than 90% of the total design enterprises,70% of the market share and 75% of the position providing.Small and medium sized design institutes are the key to promote the development of construction industry and the main driving forces of deepening reform.Studies around the world also show that the more participants and stronger ability,makes the more expected return and the better BIM performance.Therefore,it is essential to involve small and medium sized design institutions in BIM application.This paper introduces the situation of study and application of BIM in small and medium sized design institutes.The paper elaborated internal value and external value of BIM application in small and medium sized design institutes by analyzing the own characteristics and external environment condition.Based on the characteristic and design contents,the paper analyzed functional requirements of BIM application in structure speciality,it was found that process requirements and software requirements were the major problem.Based on the BIM application practice of the writer’s institution,the paper compared different BIM platform and BIM software in structure speciality,optimized the structural design process in order to solve the current “pain points”caused by traditional design.Comprehensively considering the current BIM software level and new design process and coordination mode based on BIM,the paper proposed a possible solution of BIM application in structure speciality.Finally the new design process and coordination mode are applied to an actual project case,to provide verifications and references for the application of BIM in structure speciality for the other small and medium design enterprises.
