The transmission performance for left-hand metamaterials is influenced by microstructure configurations and the material deformarion in engineering requirements of load bearing or temperature variation. In this dissertation, the influence of transmission performance on the resonat patch-typed left-handed metamaterials from deformation is analysed through theoretical analysis and experimental determination. The main contents and conclusions of this dissertation are as follows:The thesis first focuses on the design and improvement of conductivity measuring device for copper.Firstly, based on the principle of DC double armed bridge,a slider-chute test platform for measuring copper conductivity is designed and assembled. Then, according to the experimental test process appears in the low measuring accuracy, clamping instability and low measurement efficiency, the fixture device of test platform is improved. The influence models of deformation on copper conductivity are established and analysed intrinsic mechanism. The influence curves of tensile and torsion on the copper conductivity are obtained by measuring the conductivity of the copper rod before and after the deformation with the slider-chute test platform. It is found that copper conductivity increases with the increase of tensile deformation and decreases with the torsion angle’s increase, and all the change amplitude of copper conductivity slows down in the end. Then, based on the influence curve, the power function model of copper conductivity on tensile strain and twist angle is established respectively.Subsequently, from the perspective of band theory in solid physics, the intrinsic mechanism of the influence model is discussed with the help of the metallographic results of tensile and torsional deformation. The metallographic results show that the lattice distortion and deformation’s accumulation are dominant factors for the above-mentioned changes. The influence of tensile deformation on transmission performance of resonat patch-typed left-handed metamaterials is analysed.Based on the classical theory of resonant patch-typed left-handed metamaterials, the influence of axial and transverse tensile deformation on the electromagnetic transmission bandwidth and attenuation parameters of the left-handed metamaterials are analysed, and the sensitivity analysis curves of transmission performance parameters are also given. The results show that the influence on copper conductivity from the deformation of left-handed metamaterial component copper material is dominant in the transmission loss of damping factor and the magnetic loss factor under the same tensiledeformation condition. In contrast, the geometrical deformation effects of the microstructure configurations are more prominent in the transmission bandwidth index of the left-handed metamaterials.
