With the development of science and technology, wireless power transmissionhas been used widely at present. But there is some inevitable loss in the process ofwireless power transmission, and its efficiency is inversely proportional to thedistance. In this paper, in order to reduce the coupling loss, to solve the problembetween efficiency and distance in the wireless power transmission system, and makethe wireless power transfer application is more extensive, it took into account thetransmission medium, and put forward a novel transmission system. Because of thenegative refraction phenomenon of electromagnetic wave in metal resonance rings,the left-handed materials was applied to the middle of coupling coils in the powertransmission system. And though simulation and experiment, it proved the left-handedmaterials can improve the efficiency of transmission system effectively. In this paper,it have done many related researches on putting the left-handed materials applied towireless power transmission system based on magnetic coupling resonant.In this paper, it introduced the current wireless power transmission’s applicationsand developments of both at home and abroad, as well as the left-handed materials. Inview of the present major wireless energy transmission system: inductively coupledpower transmission system, electromagnetic wave radiation system, electromagneticresonant power transmission system, it analyzed themselves’ working principles andthe range of application separately. And it put forward the existing disadvantages ofwireless power transmission. Comparing with the traditional wireless powertransmission technology, the wireless energy transmission system based onleft-handed material had high efficiency and had no radiation.This paper carried on the improvement design of the magnetic couplingtransmission system. Its content is mainly concentrated in the following severalaspects. First of all, it introduced left-handed materials characteristics and its relatedparameters, and has carried on simple simulation by COMSOL software, comparingthe magnetic energy of the electromagnetic wave propagation in air and left-handedmaterials, it demonstrated the focusing phenomenon of left-handed materials, and itcombined left-handed materials with wireless power transmission. Then it hasdescribed the analysis and design of system hardware circuit in detail. Finally, through the specific experimental analysis and simulations analysis of COMSOL software,carrying out the scheme argumentation, design and implementation for theelectromagnetic resonant coupling wireless power transmission in air and theleft-handed materials respectively, and validated the effectiveness of the scheme.
