With the rapid development of China’s economy,the state’s investment in railway engineering construction is also increasing,and the technology,capital,infrastructure and other aspects have also increased.The importance of locomotives as an essential mechanical equipment for railway engineering is self-evident.The reliability and safety of the locomotive depend on the bogie.The reliability of the bogie structure and components directly affects the operational safety of the train.Studying the prevention of bogie structure and component failure is crucial for the rapid development of China’s railways.In this paper,the case of interference between the intermediate axle box and the car body traction seat of the Co-Co bogie of locomotive is studied.The theoretical analysis of the interference problem is carried out to find out the cause of interference and make corresponding design improvement.The main research contents and results of this thesis are as follows:Firstly,the basic structure of the locomotive and the bogie,the role of the bogie and the positional relationship between the bogie and the car body are briefly introduced.The discovery of the interference problem between the axle box and the traction seat of the locomotive is explained,and the initial attempt is made to solve this problem.The attempt ended in failure and led to a more serious interference with the problem.Then,through the simplification and analysis of the four-link traction mechanism,the movement law of the bogie relative to the car body when the locomotive passing curve is used is obtained.According to the law of motion,the relative position of the intermediate axle box and the car body traction rod seat is determined and three-dimensional simulation is carried out to locate the interference part and determine the interference extent.Finally,a new axle box is designed for the interference area.In order to verify that the axle box body should have sufficient strength,the finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to calculate the stress of the optimized structure under the same load and constraints.The calculation results show that the axle box with improved interference area has sufficient static strength and fatigue strength.Through the use of CREO software to simulate the working conditions,it is proved that the improved axle box can avoid the interference between the intermediate axle box and thecar body under any working conditions of the locomotive.The improved axle box doesn’t change the dynamic performance of the locomotive,the installation interface,and the safety requirements of the locomotive.Therefor it fundamentally solves the interference problem between the intermediate axle box and the car body traction rod seat.
