Analogical Architecture As A Design Idea For Rural Architecture

The Construction of Beautiful Village has changed the style and environment of the countryside in a very short time.But the top-down construction overlooked the long-term evolution of the local style and history.The inheritance of history,the preserve of memory,and the transformation of regional style become significant propositions in the design of rural architecture.And the “analogical architecture” may provide a new perspective on the design.This paper sorts out the origin and development history of “analogical architecture”,and presents the ETH teaching cases and architecture practices to introduce the design idea of “analogical architecture”.Taking the current practices of rural architecture in China as examples,this paper discusses feasibility of "analogical architecture" and its use for reference to the Construction of Beautiful Village.Finally,we annotate the ideas and methods of “analogical architecture” with the design research of the reception and exhibition center in Bianmagou village.
