With the development of society and economy,a large number of earlybuilt primary and secondary school teaching buildings are facing the reality to be remade, for the reasons that they have been unable to meet the continuously improving requirements of earthquake safety, renewal of educational concepts, and energy conservation and environmental protection.Judging from the completed cases, the reconstruction design of the teaching building facade of primary and secondary schools focuses more on the appearance, but rarely discusses the interaction between the facade,as an “interface”,and the interior space and environment.Taking the reconstruction of the facades of primary and secondary school teaching buildings as research objects, this paper discusses how to connect facades with structure, space and environment as a whole.First of all,a field survey is carried out on the status quo of the facades of primary and secondary school teaching buildings in Nanjing. Then the existing issues.are summarized Subsequently, this article puts forward the influence of factors such as the use of crowds, teaching philosophy, structural safety, policy norms, and energy and environmental protection on the facade of the teaching building.Based on literature summarization and case analysis, facade reconstruction design strategies is finalized including upgrading structural performance, optimizing the functional space and improving the indoor physical environment. Finally, the project of Affiliated Primary School of Nanjing Normal University is taken as an example to expound the application of the above strategies in practical projects.
