Scientific and technological progress and innovation have become the key driving force for economic development of all countries,and the training of scientific and technological talents and the enhancement of innovation capacity have become the central content of education of all countries.With the deepening reform of college entrance examination system in China,STEAM education aiming at scientific innovation and technological practice will become an important part of primary and secondary education in China.STEAM education emphasizes the interdisciplinary learning of teachers and students through project-based teaching activities,and puts forward the requirements of specialization,activation and diversification of teaching space.This research and the reform of middle school education and STEAM synchronous or advanced education development,to break the traditional "fixed regular classroom + professional classroom" pattern of school space,to explore to adapt to the STEAM education mode of teaching space,promote the STEAM education development,has good theoretical significance and practical significance,involves building and rebuilding work of tens of thousands of high school in our country,has great economic value and social significance.Firstly,this study sorted out the connotation and development history of STEAM education at home and abroad,and determined its development trend.In research at home and abroad to carry out the STEAM education curriculum types and patterns of behavior between teachers and students,on the basis of the demand for space,the STEAM in the function of the three representative schools of education structure and the overall layout is summarized,put forward the function of the STEAM teaching space and other teaching space combination,factors influencing the STEAM teaching space overall layout and design principles.Furthermore,this paper studies the mainstream STEAM teaching Spaces in China,and summarizes the functional composition,layout mode,area index,design principle and development trend of each type of STEAM teaching space through the investigation of teaching mode and space use status.Aiming at the problems of closed,inflexible and low utilization rate in STEAM teaching space of a single course,this paper makes an in-depth study on the functional composition,design principles and construction methods of " dedicated " and " common " STEAM teaching space based on domestic and foreign examples.Then through the space syntax theory and depthmapx software analysis,the combination pattern of STEAM teaching area is studied,and the design method of the combination relationship of STEAM teaching area is summarized.At last,the author makes a research on the reconstruction of STEAM teaching space in existing schools,and puts forward the corresponding reconstruction strategies and methods.Through the research of this paper,it provides a scientific reference for the construction and reconstruction of teaching space in most schools that have or will carry out STEAM education.It provides basic data for the design of teaching space environment mode based on STEAM education concept in the future.
