Container is now indispensable in international logistic field.With constant optimization,its structure has been increasingly mature but the requirements vary from different environments and regions.53 ft North American Domestic Reefer Container is designed to satisfy the domestic cargo transportation requirement in North America which can carry out intermodal between road and rail transportation.And it will stack two high during rail transportation.Since the container shell will meet several external forces during loading and unloading process.Stress concentration would cause the damage to the container and this prioritizes the strength of the container structure,but the traditional test method could not find the potential weak structure.This thesis is to analyze the design of the 53 ft North American Domestic Reefer Container and to verify the reliability of the strength by FEA(finite element analysis)and actual test.Then to propose and analyze the solution for structure optimization,and finish the FEA again,the specific content and achievements are as follows:(1)According to the actual use and feedback from customer,the container has some potential weak structure.Employing ABAQUS software for calculation,we build the FEA model for 53 ft North American Domestic Reefer Container,and finish the FEA;(2)According to ISO standard and Classification Societies' stipulated testing requirements,we carry out the FEA and actual strength testing in different conditions of 53 ft North American Domestic Reefer Container.It is concluded that the finite element analysis is consistent with the actual test data,and find the structure to be optimized,such as the middle corner post,etc;(3)The finite element analysis is carried out again for the optimized structure,and the structural strength increase after optimization is obtained to realize the requirements of the company's product optimization;(4)According to this,we produce the prototype container,further improve the competitiveness of products,and give an expectation for further research.
