Study On The Space Environment Of Long Gong Village Based On Semiotic Theory

A sign is a sense of meaning.Semiotics is a science of studying symbols and meaning activities.It involves the essence of the symbol,the law of development and change,various meanings and the relationship with various activities of human beings.Influenced by many factors,such as economic,political,cultural,historical,geographical and natural ones,etc.Chinese traditional villages have a diverse trend of development,forming a lot of space environment symbols with distinct morphological features and profound cultural background.These symbols convey the features of the Chinese traditional village environment and their cultural characteristics to the visitors in the most direct way.The Long Gong village is taken as an example in this paper by using the theory of semiotics to interpret the space environment of the village,aiming to explore the design strategy of the spatial environment from the perspective of the development of symbols.The first chapter analyzes the development status of relevant research at home and abroad,and puts forward the framework of the study.The second chapter interprets the spatial environment of Chinese traditional villages by using semiotics theory,and constructs the symbol system of Chinese traditional villages' spatial environment.The third and the fourth chapter respectively interprets the spatial environment symbol of the Long Gong village from two aspects : material culture and non material culture.The two chapters indicate the significance of the creation of the space environment symbol of the Long Gong village,and lay a solid foundation for the later exploration of the renewal design strategy of the space environment of the Long Gong village based on the theory of semiotics.The fifth chapter explores strategies of the Long Gong village material culture and intangible cultural renewal space environment from the semiotic perspective.Using the theory of semiotics to study the space environment of Chinese traditional villages and explore the strategy of updating the spatial environment of Chinese traditional villages is an urgent need to inherit the cultural diversity of traditional Chinese villages.It is also an urgent need to excavate the local culture,carry forward the national spirit and inherit the cultural tradition,just as what Xi Jinping has said,"Mountains in sight and waters in view remind people of hometowns."...
