With the rapid development of automobile industry and subtle fusion of automobile and information technology,car is not only a means of transport but a personal room.As technology developing,people want driving to be a natural human activity instead of a skill.At the meantime,human-computer interaction interface is also updating along with the new technology.Three stages appear gradually in the history of human-computer interaction interface,which are command line interface(CLI),graphic user interface(GUI)and natural user interface(NUI),and the NUI is generally used now.The trend of development for UI indicates that we want to communicate with automobile more naturally.In recent years,voice,gestures,eye movements and some other ways are used in the interaction between car and human,the naturality and the efficiency increase enormously.In this paper,the feasibility of space gesture interaction is researched and space gesture interaction operation prototype is established based on auto vehicle information service system.At present,three experiment stages are completed.Stage 1,which is for preliminary investigation.Through widely and deeply learning the existing space gesture interaction products,users' driving behavior and lifestyle,and the vehicle information service system(VISS),guidance and reference are provided in designing somatosensory interaction with the VISS when drivers are driving.Stage 2,which is for production designing.First,the function architecture and the process of the VISS are designed,then,the way of gesture manipulation is designed,then,the user interface design is completed based on the front two parts.Stage 3,which is for realization and user testing.First,the preliminary space gesture is achieved and the iterative optimization is used in the product.Second,as a comparison the data of driving distraction and the efficiency of gesture manipulation is collected when user drive a car in the space gesture manipulation mode or the touch-screen manipulation mode while taking advantage of the indoor driving simulator.Conclusion can be made through the two steps that space gesture manipulation is better used in the VISS in promoting efficiency and reducing driving distraction.But there are still something to promote,for example,the naturality of gesture design,the best interaction manipulation process and also the space gesture user interface.To solve the problems,the space gesture manipulation continues to be developed upon user' s demand and the dynamic interface design continues to be researched based on the progress.
