| Radome is one of the key parts of missile and made of hard brittle quartz ceramic materials,has a thin revolving body of complicated surface.Its electrical performance is key performance indicators and can directly affects the missile’s accuracy.Due to complicated manufacturing process,its electrical characteristics always can’t meet the design requirements.Now in engineering grinding is often used to change the geometrical thickness of the radome and make up its electrical performance.Based on the quartz ceramic radome with complicated surface,this paper researched measurement and precision grinding related technologies of the radome.The research objectives follow as:Based on analysis of the electrical performance factors of the radome,this paper proposed an electrical thickness compensation scheme based on measurement and grinding,planned the measurement and grinding process of the radome,researched the key component structures of the radome’s measurement and grinding process system.After analysising and comparing the existing measurement methods of radome electrical thickness,this paper proposed transmittance measurement which was appropriate for the research.And this paper designed the dedicated electrical thickness measuring device,including fixed Platform,antenna mounting bracket,rotating mounting bracket and cross slide,achieved electrical thickness measurement of the radome.According to precision grinding requirements of radome,this paper designed the internal grinding wheel system based on the existing grinder,and optimized the designed grinding spindle.This paper also made optimization design for the existing internal mounting fixture,reduced its weight and maintained its rigidity.This paper worked on the development of measuring and precision grinding software of radome,which includes three parts:planning and calculating of the measurement points,forecast of the grinding quantity and generate of NC grinding code.The features of the software were designed and analyzed.This paper had the experiment of grinding radome and tested its processing accuracy.The results showed that the existing grinding systems meet the precision grinding requirements of radome.This paper had the experiment of geometrical thickness measurement and at the same time had the experiment of precision grinding radome,the experiment validated that the measurement and grinding process system meet the requirements of radome’s precision grinding. |
