Design Of The Future Classroom Space Under Information Environment

With rapid growth of information and wide application of new technology,instruction mode has changed from an "instruction-centered" one to "student-centered and teachers guide" one.Education institutions need to cultivate more innovative talents.As the most important learning environment,classroom space has a significant impact on students’ cognition,emotion,behavior.However,the traditional classroom space cannot support future learning in space layout,desks and chairs’ layout,teaching equipments and so on.Therefore,research on the classroom space has a great influence on the development of education in the future.This paper begins with the review the advanced education concepts(such as"hierarchy of needs theory","multiple intelligences theory","open education theory"),personal space theory and 3D visualization to provide theoretical support for the design of future classroom.Then it analyzes the current classroom space of primary and secondary schools,followed by some excellent examples of classroom space at home and abroad.The article provides a series of guidance to the diversification of space,the flexibility of desks and chairs’ layout,the modernity of teaching equipments,the intelligent of classroom management and the comfort of physical environment.Besides,it comes up with three typical application patterns named"clear-type","experience-type" and "interactive-type" for the future classroom.Secondly,a 3D simulation system integrated with a variety of 3D modes on the design of classroom space is developed,which aimed to the amateurs,with its’friendly interface,simple operation and strong pertinence.This system provides technical support for decision-making of relevant personages and makes the design process more intuitive,scientific and efficient.Finally,guiding to the classroom construction of Teacher Development Center,Zhenhua Middle School in Suzhou and Yulin Normal University gives a chance to verify the design idea and improve deficiencies,with a view of the construction of future classroom a bit forward and enlightenment.As a new area of education technology,future classroom is a perspective research.It is the inherent requirements of learning and teaching theory and education informatization to a certain level.It will not only change the way of learning and teaching,but also promote the students’ innovation ability,independent problem solving capability and critical thinking ability.Due to involving multidisciplinary research content,it is necessary for building designers,education and technology researchers and classroom manages to balance education,space,resource and technology.
