A tour round the world has always been the dream of tourists both at home and abroad.While the behavior of “been here”seems not so common today when civilization and quality improve constantly,people become more likely to accept and prefer another symbol,name,tourist souvenirs,while in the sale process of souvenirs,the design of package is critical.In brief,different package of the commodity will bring different sensory stimulation to consumers,and such sensory stimulation will further inevitably and directly relate to the economic benefits produced by it.However,the barely satisfactory package of souvenirs today seems to declare a lack of good design incorporating regional culture.Even now when the tourism industry of Hunan develops rapidly and the development and design of tourist souvenirs is attached great importance by all levels of departments and designers,tourist souvenirs of Hunan still lack a regional package style that should be exclusive to it and can't embody its own cultural charm of package well.During the probe into package problems of tourist souvenirs,many experts and scholars have been aware for a long time of the problem how to improve the cultural and regionalfeatures of the package of local tourist souvenirs to give them both commemorative significance and local cultural value.In essence,it is the only targeted way to apply local characteristic visual elements to the design of the package of tourist souvenirs.Similar articles,though laying emphasis on strengthening the application of local visual elements in the package of souvenirs,are generally about whys and wherefores instead of the reason behind whys and wherefores.This thesis also focuses on the application of featured visual elements of Hunan in the package of tourist souvenirs,yet it introduces the aesthetic ideology of “aesthetic imagery” and fits it with the beauty appreciation of visual elements of Hunan on the basis,stressing that visual elements of Hunan exist as a kind of aesthetic image elements in the aesthetic imagery,therefore,it is not simply a kind of decorative design elements visually sensible,but also contains the aesthetic characteristics in image aestheticism and the cultural connotations presented under the regional historical and social background.The principles and methods for presentation and expression of visual elements of Hunan in the package design of souvenirs are further discussed on the basis of these researches so as to provide the way out for advocating native culture developingcharacteristic tourism.
