With the increasingly development of water resource and hydropower industry,the focus of the industry has been converted from construction to management,especially in the field of hydropower and water resource exploitation.Reservoir operation is the classic and fundamental problem in efficient utilization of water resource,so the researches focused on water-power model construction and model solution are of great importance both for theory and application.How to make a right decision on the mid-long term hydropower planning is the hotspot among those problems in reservoir operation,for it can utilize the water resource comprehensively.Owing to the thoughts of building operation model and the discrete data of reservoir,the optimal operation rules are now constituted by dynamic programming(DP)based on the inflow in the past,which is called certainty calculation.However the precision of DP is highly relied on how the state variable is discrete,namely a better result means a highly discrete state variable and a complex calculation.The problem is that not all these calculation is necessary and if DP is used for solving multi-dimension problems,it will be surprisingly time-consuming,called curve of dimensionality.Aimed at these issues,several improved algorithm have been developed,such as POA and DPSA.Based on these achievements,the dissertation builds a mid-long term operation analytic model and proposes a new algorithm with the iterative thoughts of progressive optimality and the functionalization of reservoir curves,whose practibility has been testified by case study.The dissertation comprised four parts:Firstly,the feasibility of functionalization is testified by the examinations of reservoir characteristic curves in four typical reservoirs,the best format of function and the chosen range of statistics are included.Then the strengths and drawbacks of functionalization will be analyzed through a comparison to linear fitting method.The case study testify that this method is practical.Secondly,a reservoir mid-long term optimal operation analytic model is set up and an improved algorithm(APOA)is developed for it.The analytic description of two-period objective function is proposed based on functional indexs in the generation function.In the case study,all of the inflow series in the past are input,three algorithms including APOA are used to calculate the average generation in the past few decades and the generation guarantee rates.The case study has testified that the proposed model and algorithm are very efficient compared with the traditional algorithm,for its compution time lasts only as long as 6%that of tradional algorithm,while the generation gurantee rate is slight improved.Thirdly,the same analytic model for cascade reservoirs is set up based on the research above.The proposed APOA is still applicable for the solution of the cascade reservoirs analytic model if combined with DPSA.In the case study,the efficiency of APOA is also dominated among these same three algorithm.The feasibility and efficiency are testified by the case study as well.At last,this dissertation makes a summary on this project and points out the drawbacks and perspectives.
