| China is one of the ancient civilizations of the world.Ancient pagoda architecture shows the high level of architectural technology and historical culture in ancient China,which is of great value in scientific research and art appreciation.The existing solid pagoda is a kind of peculiar high-rise building mainly filled with soil inside and piled with masonry material outside,which still stands after thousands of years of wind and rain.Nevertheless,the existing ancient masonry pagoda has been damaged by frequent earthquakes in China or man-made destruction,so protection and maintenance of ancient pagodas need in-depth analysis and discussion,in which seismic protection is the core content.Through field investigation and reference reading this paper analyze the dynamic performance,seismic response and seismic capacity of vajre throne masonry pagoda and pavilion style masonry pagoda by ground pulsation test,shaking table test and numerical simulation.The main work and conclusions are as follows:(1)The seismic performance of masonry pagoda and its assessment method are analyzed,and a dynamic test system is used to test the vibration response under environmental excitation of Cideng vajre throne pagoda in Hohhot,Inner Mongolia.Through the time domain and frequency domain analysis,we get the natural frequency,vibration and damping of the five small tower on the vajre throne pagoda.We establish the equal-dimensional numerical model by Abaqus to calculate the dynamic characteristics of the structure,modify the mechanical parameters of the tower material based on the principle of dynamic characteristics equivalency,and obtain the equivalent calculation parameters of the tower structure.(2)A numerical model of Cideng pagoda is established in rigid foundation and considering soil-structure interaction conditions,and analyze its seismic response.Through the displacement response and stress response of the structure,we analyze the weak parts of Cideng pagoda under seismic power,and evaluate the seismic capacity of the structure.The influence of SSI effect on the dynamic characteristics and seismic response of the tower is also analyzed.(3)A Xi’an Xingjiao temple 1: 8 scale shaking table model is designed and manufactured,then a structural shaking table test is carried out.The working conditions in different damage stages and the displacement response of the model are obtained,and according to the variation law of inter-layer displacement angle and structural failure characteristics,we identify the key indicators of seismic performance assessment.We conduct numerical simulation to verify the rationality of the index,which shows that computational and experimental results are in relatively good agreements.Through the field research,experiment and numerical analysis upon the ancient pagoda,the paper provides a reference for the protection and maintenance of the ancient pagoda.It possesses a certain theoretical and practical value. |
