Tailings pond is made up of intercepting taniguchi or exclosure,it is a place where discharging tailings or other industrial waste residue was stockpiled.As countries demand for mineral resources enormously,the quantity and the dam height have a rapid increasement.Tailings pond is source of danger of man-made debris flow with high potential energy.Risking of dam failure,it is easy to cause especially big accidents,which causes huge losses to the people's life and property and poses a serious threat to the environment security.So the reinforcement technology and stability of the tailings pond have been a major issue that was concerned about national governments,mining enterprises and academia.This paper regard the geotechnical engineering investigation report of FuGuiNiao 1#Tailings pond in BeiPiao as the basis of information and focuses on profile map of the most dangerous section,the stability of the tailing pond was calculated by limit equilibrium method,meanwhile combining with field investigation,mainly the following results:Seepage,stress and strain of the tailings pond are simulated by the finite element method,the article adopt the specification recommended bishop method and Sweden arc method to make analysis on the stability of the dam on this basis in order to realize the coupling of numerical analysis and limit equilibrium analysis.the coupling method have the advantage of the two methods at the same time.Not only stress-strain relationship of the internal tailings pond is given,but also the minimum stability coefficient of the dam is given.The minimum safety factor is list below three kinds of working conditions.Seepage line plays a very important role in the anti-sliding stability of the tailings pond,stability study is based on measured seepage line under normal operation condition,meanwhile seepage line under normal operation condition is calculated by using the numerical method,which is compared with the measured seepage line in order to validation seepage parameters.It provide the basis on seepage line under flood operation condition.the specific operation of the dam is the flood and earthquake stability under the most adverse conditions,this article first by use the method of static analysis,and then adopt for numerical method analysis of the seismic dynamic stability.Through the earthquake dynamic response and liquefaction effect of dam,the purpose study the stability statuses of dam under special operation condition.
