Tailings pond dam is a dam combined with very typical non-viscous or less cohesive soil, and it is easy to be liquefied with the influencing of water. Because of the characteristics of tailings accumulation and the complexity of morphological changes, the analytical method of the tailings needed for the factors considered more various. Those ways that the research methods of reservoir dam and the research methods of generally slope problems can not totally applied for the tailings pond, but we can use the basic principles of the traditional slope stability analytical methods for reference.The stability analyses of tailings pond include:static stability analysis, seepage stability analysis and the dynamic stability analysis. In this paper, in order to analyze the static stability and dynamic stability of the tailings pond from the point of view of geotechnical engineering and safety engineering, I use the Yang Jia Qing's phosphogypsum stack for engineering background and use the method of combining of field survey, theoretical analysis, modeling calculation and engineering practice. This article completes research work main as follows:(1) State the engineering properties and the stability analysis method of tailings pond.(2) Tell the basic information of the study object (Yang Jia Qing's phosphogypsum stack).(3) Assure the physical and mechanical parameters in the using of computer in the foundation of analyzing the engineering survey data and experiment data. I used the Geo Studio software to have a numerical simulation of the tailings seepage dam and analyzed the dry beach length, phosphor gesso anisotropy, the ratio of permeability layers and the influence of dam water permeability to tailings dam seepage field.(4) In the normal operation of the tailings and flood run-time numerical simulation analysis of the tailings dam displacement, stress conditions, to calculate the minimum safety factor of the tailings dam to study the static stability of the tailings dam.(5) Set to the seismic wave and the finite element model of the tailings dam under earthquake at different stages of displacement, stress, pore pressure, liquefaction zone changes and the dam permanent deformation after the earthquake, calculate the tailings dam in special conditions of the minimum safety factor, slip plane, the dynamic stability of tailings dams.(6) Give some advice about how to improve Yang Jia Qing tailings pond's stability.
